Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Revu ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a binding legal agreement between you and Revu Labs ("we," "our," or "us").

2. Description of Service

Revu is a spaced repetition learning platform that allows you to upload study materials, generate flashcards and other retrieval practice content, track learning progress, and receive an adaptive daily review schedule powered by the FSRS algorithm. The Service is offered in two tiers:

• Free: €0 — 40 AI uploads per month, up to 3 courses, flashcards, quizzes, unlimited review sessions, basic analytics (7-day history), and the ability to join Study Pods as a free member
• Plus: €9.99/month — everything in Free without limits, every AI content type (cost-capped), practice exams, calendar integration, Studio chat, and a 3-seat Study Pod (you + 2 classmates).
• Pro: €19.99/month — everything in Plus with a larger AI budget, Marketplace publishing, Study Packs, full analytics history, and a 5-seat Study Pod (you + 4 classmates) with a free-month credit for each pod member who later upgrades.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time with reasonable notice.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement. When you create an account:

• You must provide accurate and complete information
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• You must notify us immediately at support@revu.cards if you suspect unauthorized access
• You may not share your account credentials with others or create accounts on behalf of others without authorization

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
• Upload or submit content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Circumvent plan limits, access controls, or rate limits
• Use the AI features to generate harmful, defamatory, or deceptive content
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically download data from the Service
• Use automated means to access the Service in a manner that exceeds reasonable human usage
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or availability of the Service or its infrastructure

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.

5. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all content you create, upload, or store in Revu — including flashcards, notes, study materials, and uploaded documents. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content.

By using AI-powered features, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process the content you submit solely for the purpose of fulfilling your request (e.g. generating cards from a PDF). This license ends when the AI request is fulfilled.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that content you upload does not infringe the intellectual property rights of others, violate applicable law, or breach any third-party agreements.

6. AI-Generated Content

AI-generated content (flashcards, quiz questions, practice exam items) is provided as a study aid and may contain errors. Revu does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or correctness of any AI-generated output. All AI-generated cards require your explicit review and approval before being added to your study queue. We recommend verifying AI-generated content against authoritative sources, particularly for high-stakes study material.

7. Intellectual Property

Revu — including its design, code, algorithms, branding, and the Service itself — is the intellectual property of Revu Labs and is protected by copyright and other applicable laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial study purposes in accordance with these Terms. This license does not include the right to copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicense any part of the Service.

8. Subscriptions and Payments

8.1 Free Trial

New users may start a 14-day free trial of Revu Pro. No credit card is required to sign up for the trial. At the end of the trial period, your account is automatically moved to the Free plan — you will not be charged unless you actively subscribe to Pro.

8.2 Pricing

Paid subscriptions are priced in Euros (EUR) and billed each month:

• Plus: €9.99 per month — includes a 3-seat Study Pod.
• Pro: €19.99 per month — includes a 5-seat Study Pod and the pod-referral free-month credit described in section 8.7.

Prices are exclusive of any applicable taxes. Tax may be added at checkout depending on your location.

8.3 Billing and Renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. Payment is processed by Stripe. We never store or access your full payment card details.

8.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Billing. Upon cancellation, you retain Pro access until the end of the current billing period. No further charges are made after cancellation. Cancellation does not delete your account or data.

8.5 Downgrade Behavior

When downgrading from Pro to Free, your data is never deleted. All courses, cards, and review history are preserved. Content and features that exceed Free plan limits (e.g. more than 3 courses, AI uploads beyond the monthly allowance) become read-only. You may export all your data at any time.

8.6 Refunds

We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact support@revu.cards within 14 days of the charge and we will investigate.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy of any AI-generated content.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Revu Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, loss of study progress, or business interruption, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €50 if you are on the Free plan.

11. Data and Backups

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, you are responsible for maintaining backups of critical study content. We are not liable for data loss resulting from hardware failure, accidental deletion, service interruptions, or other causes. We recommend regularly exporting your study data from Settings → Data.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, to be harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings. Upon account deletion, your right to use the Service ceases and all your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the platform and updating the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will also email registered users at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of Revu after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Netherlands.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may also have the right to use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
